Saki Ayase (綾瀬 沙季, Ayase Saki?) is the female lead of the series, 'Gimai Seikatsu'. She is a second-year high school student, the step-daughter of Taichi Asamura, the biological daughter of Akiko Ayase and the step-sister of Yuuta Asamura.
Appearance[]
Saki is a beautiful girl with waist-length light-blonde hair (later had it cut) that has a single hair strand hanging on the right side with bangs hanging over her forehead and purple eyes.
She wears two different outfits:
- At school, she wears the standard school uniform, with the blazer tied around her waist. Because of this, she is often mistaken as a gal.
- When dressed casually, Saki wears a flamboyant outfit.
Personality[]
Due to her flamboyant outfit, others are given the impression that she is a delinquent student and is therefore not well-liked in class. Saki is described to wear dry expressions when talking to Yuuta. Because of this she is shown to show little emotion, though she does get flustered when the unexpected happens.
Saki strives for independence. She always gives more than she receives because she does not want to depend on or be indebted to others. This is why she is searching for a part-time job that would allow her to live alone. Her desire for independence is so great that she was even willing to sell her body to Yuuta if that meant getting enough money to live by herself.
Background[]
Saki used to live in a small flat with her mother and biological father. She had very little contact with her father due to him usually working long hours or being elsewhere. He cheated on her mother multiple times while also not contributing to Saki's well-being, which caused her mother to work night-life just to support her daughter. But Saki's father didn't appreciate his wife having contact with other men and she filed for divorce.
She became Yuuta's step-sister after her parents remarried, making Akiko Ayase her biological mother and Taichi Asamura her step-father.
Relationships[]
Maaya Narasaka[]
Maaya is Saki's friend. She is very popular at school and gets along well with more than half the year. She says she had trouble befriending Saki at first, until Saki eventually gave up. She has a close relationship with Maaya and describes her to be like a sister. Maaya supports Saki's relationship with her older step-brother.
Yuuta Asamura[]
Yuuta is Saki's older step-brother. Although they are siblings, Saki keeps her distance from him. Despite this, she seems to be warming up to him along the way, even making a contract with him. After an incident, Saki started to trust Yuuta a lot more as a brother. We can see in her diary that she has a different feeling towards Yuuta other than big brother, which confuses her.
After the Halloween incident, Saki acknowledges her feelings for Yuuta, so they start a relationship unofficially.
Akiko Ayase[]
Akiko is Saki's biological mother.
Taichi Asamura[]
Taichi is Saki's step-father.
Etymology[]
- The name Saki means "sand" (沙) (sa) and "season" (季) (ki).
- Saki's surname Ayase means "design" (綾) (aya) and "swift current, rapids" (瀬) (se).
