Yuuta Asamura (浅村 悠太, Asamura Yūta?) is the protagonist of the Gimai Seikatsu series. He is Saki Ayase's step-brother and a second-year high school student.
Appearance[]
Yuuta refers to himself as an 'average high schooler'. He has black hair with bangs dropping on his face. He has turquoise or blue-green eyes.
He wears three different outfits:
- He is usually seen wearing his school uniform or wearing his part-time job uniform.
- At home, he wears a casual T-shirt and a 3/4th pant.
Personality[]
Yuuta is a normal high school student but is somewhat distant from others. In school, his only friend is Maru Tomokazu. He loves books to the level of a print addict. Because of this, he works part-time at a book store. Yuuta usually works whenever he finds time.
According to Shiori Yomiuri, Yuuta is the only one to whom she comfortably jokes to.
Even though Yuuta is usually distant to others, he is shown to care deeply about others. One instance is when Yuuta saves Saki Ayase from an accident, or when Yuuta rushes out to the elevator of his apartment when his LINE message received no response from Saki.
Background[]
Yuuta became Saki Ayase's step-brother after their parents remarried. Yuuta views romantic relationships negatively as when he was a child he was constantly exposed to his biological mother and father fighting, which eventually led his mother to cheat on his father and file for divorce. Additionally, Yuuta's biological mother would get mad and yell at him often no matter what he did. As a result, Yuuta viewed marriage as something that would never make anyone happy; as such he never developed romantic feelings towards another person before.[2]

Etymology[]
- The name Yuuta means "permanence" (悠) (yuu) and "thick, big, great" (太) (ta).
- Yuuta's surname Asamura means "shallow" (浅) (asa) and "town, village" (村) (mura).
